122 - Developing a learning culture: Stories and lessons from developing learning agendas
Stream: Professional Development and Leadership
Friday, October 25, 2024
12:45 PM - 1:15 PM PST
Location: Exhibit Hall A
Abstract Information: William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan will share stories and lessons from developing concrete learning processes and practices with partner organizations. We will dive into the depths of this journey, starting with administering a learning environment assessment to guide the co-creation of a Theory of Change (TOC), indicators, learning agenda, and a knowledge management framework. Throughout the session, we will share how we transferred ownership of monitoring, evaluation, and learning tools and processes to our partners so they were empowered to use the tools and processes to collect and analyze information to inform their operations and be more intentional in strategic planning. We’ll also share sensemaking exercises on venture learning projects with companies around the globe. Next, we want to hear from the audience about their experiences in developing learning cultures within teams and organizations. We also want to hear about their challenges and successes in developing monitoring and evaluation skills and ownership with other colleagues and teams. Audience members can be sure to look forward to high-energy, engaging sessions where attendees share feedback and best practices to ensure a rich conversation that gives back to this AEA community.
