Abstract Information: This Ignite session explores the importance of integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) values and principles within hiring practices, specifically focusing on the Request for Proposals (RFP) process in evaluation. Approaching RFP processes with a DEI lens can enrich the evaluation process by bringing diverse perspectives, fostering innovative solutions, and enhancing cultural responsiveness. Drawing from experiences within a research and evaluation team at an immigration narrative change organization, the presenter will share valuable insights on crafting and refining RFP processes that empower emerging and underrepresented researchers and evaluators. Learn how intentionally creating opportunities for new, emerging, and underrepresented evaluators can lead to more inclusive and representative evaluation practices, ultimately driving more meaningful and equitable outcomes in the communities you serve.
