18 - How to Evaluate a College and Career Advising Program (CCAP) in a Large Urban School District in U.S.?

Abstract Information: The College and Career Advising Program (CCAP) was created in 2010 in a local school district in Texas. The CCAP program provides targeted supports and services to students in grades nine through 12 at 38 high schools. The purpose of this program was to increase high school students’ college application, financial aid application, college and career exploration, and college entrance exam preparation (SAT/ACT/TSIA). This evaluation examined: the extent to which the CCAP was implemented, and how the CCAP reached its outlined program goals, and how CCAP program supported high school students prepare for two-year or four-year college. Data used for this evaluation were from CCAP program manager, vendors, department of education, ApplyTexas, and National Student Clearinghouse (NSC).
