1057 - Career Development in Evaluation Training: Navigating the Evaluation Ecosystem and Building Skills to Grow Your Career

Abstract Information: This interactive workshop will enhance participants' career development and equip them with tools to use their Evaluation24 experience to advance toward their career objectives. During the workshop, participants will increase understanding of the evaluation landscape in North America, learn about career pathways and opportunities to grow their career, and identify areas for skill and competency development. Through facilitated discussions and interactive activities, participants will identify their career objectives and come out with practical steps to achieve them including a plan for navigating the Evaluation24 conference. The facilitators will share their own experiences of leveraging career development tools to achieve their career objectives. This workshop will provide a space for participants to discuss questions and challenges related to career development and growth in evaluation.

This training offers a place for Young and Emerging Evaluators (YEEs) to candidly raise questions about entering the field, practice their skills and engage in dialogue with peers. This training was developed in partnership by EvalYouth Global Network, UNFPA Evaluation Office, P2p+ initiative and Global Evaluation Initiative to promote career development among young and emerging evaluators. The training was developed with input from youth representatives from across the world. EvalYouth North America led the adaptation of this training to ensure the content is relevant to young and emerging evaluators in North America.
