Jean Hong of Public Profit will share their evolving journey with R; from adopting R for data cleaning and management, to building reports, and automating the process of creating dozens of reports for multi-site evaluations. Using R has particularly helped with bringing disparate pieces of data from multiple sources into semi-standardized reports. One particular perk of using R for multi-site reports is the ability to use previous iterations of code to incorporate new innovations/updates to finesse data visualization and reporting without having to start from scratch. It has further opened up our team’s availability to collaborate with clients on nuances in their narrative in telling their stories and providing their data back to them in a more timely manner. Internally, using R has provided ways to incorporate new practices in a sustainable manner and learn from each other regardless of ability and experience
