The Mission Continues, United States
Ryan Humphres, MSW, is the Research & Evaluation Analyst of The Mission Continues, a national nonprofit that provides veterans with skills and resources to engage as volunteer leaders in ongoing and purposeful community improvement service projects in more than 40 cities. For the past 3 years in his Research & Evaluation role, Ryan has identified the impacts of The Mission Continues national leadership programs, Mass Deployment Program, and Service Platoon Program. Ryan has used collaborative evaluation to facilitate cross-functional projects that help staff make data-informed holistic decisions. In his day-to-day role, Ryan works on all aspects of evaluation-related content: survey design and development, conducting data analyses, socializing evaluation findings to various audiences, increasing funding with evaluation, and more.
Ryan is an author in the 2024 Journal of Evidence-Based Social Work's article, "Validity and Reliability of the Empowered Veteran Index-Short Form (EVI-SF)." The article discusses the recently validated short-form scale that measures veteran empowerment in connectedness, civic engagement, and personal growth. Ryan developed a passion for veteran reintegration and support work during his experience as a social work practicum student at The Mission Continues, where he evaluated the impacts of programming on veterans who participated in one or more of The Mission Continues’ national programs.
