Director of Learning, Evaluation, and Capacity Building

Kate joined the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving as part of its Research and Evaluation unit in 2018. In her current role as Director of Learning, Evaluation, and Capacity Building, she guides data, evaluative, and Nonprofit Support Program work in support of the Foundation’s mission and strategic priorities. Kate leads teams responsible for developing and implementing a wide range of knowledge and capacity building resources, supports, and approaches grounded in equitable principles that are in service of strengthening the regional nonprofit ecosystem.
Previously, Kate worked as a program evaluator in Massachusetts and Connecticut for more than ten years. She earned her undergraduate degree in Economics and Political Science from Alfred University, her JD from the SUNY Buffalo Law School, and her PhD in Social Policy from the Heller School at Brandeis University.
