Nada Rayyes is a Senior Researcher at American Institutes for Research (AIR) with Ph.D. in Education from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Dr. Rayyes has over 20 years of experience as a qualitative and mixed-methods educational researcher, evaluator and consultant. She has experience leading evaluations of career pathways, out of school time, and social and emotional learning (SEL) programs throughout California and nationwide. Currently, she serves as Project Director and Qualitative Lead on the evaluation of an Education Innovation Research (EIR) grant focused on work-based learning in dual-enrollment in Tennessee high schools. Dr. Rayyes also serves as Qualitative Lead on the evaluation of trauma informed education program, Resilience Education to Advance Community Healing (REACH), based in Illinois, in partnership with Lurie Children’s Center for Childhood Resilience. Prior to her position at AIR, Rayyes served as Project Director at the Center for Evaluation and Effectiveness (CEEE) at the California State University, Long Beach, where she led a large, mixed-methods evaluation of the Building Infrastructure Leading to Diversity (BUILD) program, an NIH-funded undergraduate research training program. In previous positions, Dr. Rayyes has evaluated after school programs, funded by the federal 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant, and an SEL initiative, sponsored by the Hawai’i Community Foundation. Dr. Rayyes works with closely with clients to deliver clear, concrete results that build capacity and support program improvements. She is passionate about using her research and analytic skills to promote social justice, equity and inclusion for youth and adults.
