Elena Schmidt, MA, PhD is the Evaluation Program Manager at Apex Evaluation, where she provides strategic direction and support to a team of evaluators working on a portfolio of projects in public health and public education. She joined Apex after working for 14 years in various internal and external evaluation and research roles in public education and public health. She has a keen interest in advancing evaluation as a strategic asset for mission-driven organizations. She focuses on equitable evaluation, data strategy, data fluency, and continuous improvement. I have a BA in International Relations & History from Colgate University, an MA in Political Science from the Pennsylvania State University, and a PhD in Urban Education from Temple University. She is also an alumna of the Strategic Data Project fellowship at the Center for Educational Policy Research at Harvard University. In 2018, as a fellow in the program, she relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma and is still enjoying the city’s vibrant art and social impact scenes together with her husband and two children.
