Brad Sagara has nearly two decades experience in quantitative research focusing on resilience, food security, and livelihoods in more than 15 countries throughout Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia. In his current role as Director for Research and Learning, he is Mercy Corps’ lead on two research awards focused on advancing methods for monitoring and evaluating climate resilience, food security and agriculture. This includes but is not limited to evaluating the effectiveness of resilience building investments, social and market systems dynamics in humanitarian and development response, resilience in fragile and conflict affected contexts, and return on investment of resilience building efforts. Integral to each research effort is an emphasis on translating knowledge generated into improved policy and practice to design and implement smarter, more efficient and effective resilient investments.
