Oluyemisi Oloniyo, a PhD student in Educational Psychology at Washington State University, is dedicated to advancing educational practices. She has over 20 years of experience in K-12 education, early childhood leadership, teacher training, curriculum development, monitoring and evaluation, and learning.
Her educational journey includes a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, where she researched differentiated instruction's impact on pupils' academic performance, and a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology from Washington State University, where she completed a systematic literature review on evaluating early childhood education programs. Currently, she is pursuing her PhD at Washington State University, furthering her mission to improve education.
Oluyemisi's collaboration with evaluation experts from Arizona State University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro on a National Science Foundation-funded Advanced Technological Education (ATE) research project is a testament to her research skills. This project, which investigates the feasibility of measuring equity, diversity, and inclusion (DEI) in the ATE context, showcases her ability to work with experts and her commitment to rigorous research. Her work also includes evaluations for NSF Career Collaborative Research and Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in atmospheric chemistry, further demonstrating her analytical skills and commitment to enhancing educational programs.
Oluyemisi has shared her research at conferences, including the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and the American Evaluation Association, and has been an invited presenter at various workshops. She holds professional licensure from Nova Scotia, Canada, and Nigeria and is an active member of several professional organizations. Her extensive experience and leadership in education are demonstrated through her involvement in various evaluation projects and her roles at Washington State University's Center for Civic Engagement and Supreme Education Foundation Schools in Nigeria, where she supervised curriculum development and conducted regular assessments of teachers to foster professional development.
