Dr. Hannah Carliner, ScD, MPH is a Director of Research & Evaluation at the non-profit public health institute Health Resources in Action. She designs and leads community health assessments and program evaluations with a range of clients, including state and local public health departments, hospital networks, and philanthropic foundations. Current work includes leading the evaluations of two grant portfolios (1) the Massachusetts Statewide Community Health and Healthy Aging Funds and (2) philanthropic funding for collaboration among organizations working to improve the mental and behavioral health system in their state. HRiA's evaluation work has a strong and growing focus on equitable evaluation practices for initiatives focused on policy, systems, and environmental change to promote health and racial equity. Dr. Carliner is a social epidemiologist with expertise in mental health, substance use, and childhood trauma. She specializes in quantitative research methods, particularly survey design, administration, and analysis.
