Dr. Jane Payumo directs the Research Evaluation and Data Analytics team of MSU AgBioResearch – the research arm of Michigan State University’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. Dr. Payumo spearheads the design and implementation of program impact assessment, data analytics, and automation solutions to help maintain a robust research enterprise for MSU’s agriculture college. She also provides technical leadership to various food and agriculture innovation projects and initiatives on monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems and activities, data-based program decision-making, and impact reporting for U.S. federal agencies including USAID, USDA, Department of Energy, and Department of State.
Her work involves handling projects, programs, and institutional-level data for insights and decision-making; and her team must transform data and information (sometimes complex) into clear, compelling visuals for college leaders and other stakeholders. Proficient in a wide range of data visualization tools and techniques, she uses and creates insightful, user-friendly, and informative graphics, and interactive dashboards, and designs end-to-end systems that empower data management, communicate data for impact stories, and data-driven decision-making.
Dr. Payumo received her Doctor of Philosophy at Washington State University, Pullman, WA, and undergraduate and master’s degrees in the Philippines from Central Luzon State University and the University of the Philippines, respectively.
