Carolyn Sullins, PhD, is a Senior Evaluator at Trewon Technologies, where she has been leading evaluations of programs funded by the National Science Foundation and the Department of Labor. She is an alumnus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and has been conducting evaluations of a wide range of educational, mental health, and social service programs since the late 1990s. Dr. Sullins has worked for The Evaluation Center of Western Michigan University, James Bell Associates, and as a contractor for the Department of Defense. Her first presentation for the AEA was in 1998, a personal story about how her newly-acquired disability not only helped her relate to the stakeholders of a consumer-run facility, but with their input facilitated the development of new concepts of empowerment evaluation.
