Matteah Spencer Reppart is the founder of principal consultant of Proponents, established in 2013 and based in Grand Rapids, MI. For more than 15 years, Matteah has been designing, facilitating and leading strategic learning and evaluative work, supporting organizational development, and providing team-based and individual leadership coaching. She has worked internationally and domestically, with front-line staff to executives from nonprofits, philanthropic organizations, and educational institutions. Her partnerships with community-based organizations who are closest to the people and leveraging their collective power hold a special place in her heart.
Matteah serves at the intersection of the multitude of our humanity and the complexity of our systems. She is grounded in the premise that systems change often happens through the personal transformation of its members. She is passionate about supporting greater insight, awareness, clarity, purpose, alignment, and courage. Attuned to personality patterns that make us uniquely human and cultural patterns that make us humankind, she is curious about eliciting the implicit value orientations that guide our attention, thinking and behavior. She is committed to examining systemic conditions while exploring new mindsets, power dynamics, and relationships to bring about a new reality.
In addition to her work with Proponents, Matteah is also a Foundation Practice Partner Coach with the Equitable Evaluation Initiative, supporting Foundation Practice Partners in their practice of the Equitable Evaluation FrameworkTM.
Matteah earned her Masters Degree in International Development Administration (Political Science) through Western Michigan University, with a concentration in Leadership and Evaluation. In addition to her formal education, Matteah has been trained in Regenerative Leadership through the Regenerative Leaders Academy, Racial Equity Action Leadership and Liberatory Design through the National Equity Project, Facilitative Leadership through Michigan State University, and has studied various personal growth & healing modalities through the Vitalist School of Psycho-Spiritual Transformation.
