Ruby Joseph, MPA is an Associate In Research in the Department of Child and Family Studies, College of Behavioral and Community Sciences at the University of South Florida. Her primary interests are in research, evaluation, and service implementation of programs that benefit minority populations and high need communities. Her research focuses on broad issues that affect the mental, educational, and social development of children and youth.
Over a thirty-year research career, Ms. Joseph has worked on local, national, and internationally research and evaluation projects. Her research and evaluation work has involved multiple service systems including education, mental health, and substance abuse, to support service interventions programs for low income families and communities, and populations with high need. Over the last decade, her projects have included educational research supporting students with emotional and developmental disabilities in the Florida school system, and an evaluation of a jail diversion program for adults with substance abuse and mental health challenges. More recently, Ms. Joseph’s research efforts have centered on educational disparities impacting Black and Brown students along the educational continuum from preschool through graduate school.
Ms. Joseph has experience and expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods, providing technical assistance to community organizations, and building University and community collaborations to foster effective intervention programs in the Tampa Bay area, nationally, and internationally.
