Jennifer Billman, Ph.D., is a scientist, evaluator, and leader passionate about transdisciplinary approaches to complex problems. Jennifer’s formal training in biology, zoology, and sociology inform her approach to evaluation. Her independent scholarly work focuses on the philosophical foundations of the evaluation field, where she advocates for engagement with diverse epistemologies and ontologies in evaluation. A member of AEA since 2017, Jennifer currently serves as the AEA Theories of Evaluation TIG co-chair, peer reviews for AJE and JMDE, and is a frequent conference presenter. She has published in AJE, JMDE, and co-authored a chapter in Core Concepts in Evaluation: Classic Writings and Contemporary Commentary (2024). Jennifer spent 30 years in higher education as a biology professor and assessment coordinator. Currently, she serves as a senior research and evaluation associate with an independent firm.
