Debbie Hahs-Vaughn, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Learning Sciences and Educational Research at the University of Central Florida where she teaches graduate level quantitative statistics and research methods. She previously served as the Executive Editor of the Measurement, Statistics, and Research Design section of the Journal of Experimental Education. Dr. Hahs-Vaughn is the author of six quantitative statistics textbooks and has published over 70 refereed articles in professional outlets. She has evaluated several projects, including those funded by the National Science Foundation, U.S. Department of Labor, and U.S. Department of Education. Most recently, she led the evaluation team for a $3.3M U.S. Department of Education Teacher Quality Partnership grant for recruiting, preparing, and sustaining pre-service teachers in high needs schools which included a randomized trial designed to meet WWC standards. She is currently PI on a National Science Foundation meta-analysis examining personalized learning in undergraduate mathematics. Dr. Hahs-Vaughn is a certified reviewer for the What Works Clearinghouse, certified in group design standards (versions 4.1 and 5.0), single case designs (version 4.1 and 5.0), and regression discontinuity designs (version 4.1). She is the recipient of numerous external awards including, among others: the 2015 Service Award, presented by the American Educational Research Association’s Educational Statistician’s Special Interest Group; and the 2013 Researcher of the Year Award, presented by the Florida Educational Research Association. Among other UCF awards, Dr. Hahs-Vaughn is a four-time recipient of both the Research Incentive Award and Teaching Incentive Program Award, a three-time recipient of both the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Award and the college-level Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award. She has twice received the college-level Excellence in Research Award and has also received the university-level Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award.
