Benjamin Ngaji Oganga is a Tanzanian and an accomplished educator and administrator. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Education) Hons. from the University of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, and a Master of Education (International Education) from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA.
He has more than twenty years of experience working with both local and central government authorities in Tanzania. He is an Education Specialist specialized in Program design, Education Policy – planning, Monitoring and Evaluation. He has worked with both national and international organizations in designing and implementing various education projects – mostly donor funded projects for Basic Education and higher education (World Bank, FCDO, JICA, SIDA, UNICEF, GPE, Belgium Tech Cooperation etc.)
Currently, he works with Cambridge Education (Tanzania) for the position of Acting Deputy Team Leader for Shule Bora program funded by FCDO. Mr. Oganga has also served as System Strengthening Lead for Shule Bora program, Assistant Director for Primary Education, Assistant Director for Secondary Education as well as Assistant Regional Administrative Secretary (Education) under the President’s Office - Regional Administration and Local Government. Prior to these roles, he held positions as an Education Coordinator and Principal Education Coordinator. His work has also included monitoring and evaluation roles for the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training and as a Secondary School Teacher in Tanzania.
His wish is to see transformations within Tanzania’s education system which is built around developing learners who can demonstrate knowledge, creativity, and intellectual skills and capacities.
