I am Ana María Suárez Mesa, and I hold a PhD in Education Policy and Research from the University of Antioquia in Medellín, Colombia, as well as a Master’s and a BSc degree in Biology.
I am a dedicated researcher, evaluator, secondary school teacher, and university lecturer with over a decade of professional experience in education. Currently, I am advancing my career by focusing on research in secondary and higher education, specifically investigating the impact of individual and school factors on student learning and achievement.
My professional competence has been recognized with awards such as a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for my doctoral stay, the Sakura Scholarship for scientific exchange, and recognition from the Mayor’s Office of Medellín for my work as a teacher.
I have contributed to academic literature with publications and papers in areas including teacher motivation, scientific literacy, and environmental education. My interdisciplinary approach and commitment to excellence make me a highly qualified professional in education, research, and project management. Additionally, my experience working in multicultural settings has equipped me with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, enhancing the impact and reach of my projects.
