Dr. Carolyn Kaldon is a Research Professor at the Center for Research in Educational Policy (CREP) at the University of Memphis. Drawing from her foundation as an elementary classroom teacher, she has worked with districts and schools nationwide for over 15 years to conduct meaningful and high-quality research focused on improving student achievement in literacy and STEM as well as providing effective professional learning and mentoring for teachers. She designs and leads research and evaluation projects at CREP, often aligned to What Works Clearinghouse standards, and has methodological expertise in experimental (RCT) and mixed-methods research design, program evaluation, implementation fidelity, and project management. She has a broad portfolio of research activity in areas such as elementary literacy, STEM education, teacher professional development, social-emotional development, and teacher burnout and turnover. Dr. Kaldon received her Ph.D. and M.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from The Pennsylvania State University, and also holds a Professional Teaching License for grades 1-8.
