Laura Arena, MPH, specializes in qualitative and mixed-methods program evaluation. She collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to design and conduct evaluations that yield practice-based guidance for improving chronic disease prevention and control efforts at the national, state, and local levels. Ms. Arena has led and supported multiple projects funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) Division of Diabetes Translation (DDT) and has conducted qualitative case studies or site visits on more than 20 projects. Her recent experience includes evaluating efforts to address social determinants of health (SDOH) and applying a culturally responsive lens to program evaluation. She currently helps manage the Community & Workplace Health program at RTI International and serves as the project director for a multicomponent evaluation of CDC’s Colorectal Cancer Control Program.
