Tanko Mahamudu is committed to enhancing the effectiveness of impact investments for the organizations and communities he serves. With over a decade of hands-on experience in research, monitoring, and evaluation, he has supported multiple initiatives funded by USAID, GAC, DFID, BMGF, and DANIDA in Ghana and Nigeria. Tanko managed several large-scale baseline and evaluation studies, working closely with government agencies, international partners, the private sector, and indigenous communities. His experience spans across various sectors, including health, agriculture, and education.
He currently serves as the Impact and Knowledge Management Manager at Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) in Ghana, for the Greater Rural Opportunities for Women Project2 (GROW2). Prior to this, he served as the MERL Specialist for the Women Empowerment and Youth Entrepreneurship (WAY) project in Bauchi, Nigeria by MEDA. He served in similar roles and capacities for the Ghana Access and Affordability Program (GAAP), the CAMFED Ghana initiative for young girls, and the USAID Power Innovations in Commercial Agriculture (PICA) Project. In these roles, Tanko contributed significantly to resilient market and health systems, women's economic empowerment, and youth entrepreneurship.
He has authored and contributed to several technical reports, learning papers, and research publications in his domain, employing quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Tanko holds an MSc in Statistics from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and a BSc in Statistics from the University of Cape Coast. He is also certified in Investment Analysis and Project Management.
