Milena Casamassima holds master's degrees in social work and public health and is a researcher with the Social Work Research Center (SWRC) at Colorado State University (CSU) where she is also a PhD student. Milena has more than nine years of experience in the research and human services fields, beginning work as an evaluator in 2020. Milena's research experience spans the fields of psychology, human development and family studies, social work, and public health. Her passion for multidisciplinary collaboration, research-practice partnerships, data equity, and anti-oppressive research practices drives her work and doctoral studies. At SWRC, Milena leads projects related to human trafficking and child maltreatment prevention and supports projects related to healthy aging and supportive service navigation for families with children. Outside of CSU, Milena is a part of several community coalitions that advocate for expanding access to harm reduction services in Colorado.
