Jennifer Yessis, PhD, CE is Associate Director of the Professional Graduate Programs in the School of Public Health Sciences at University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. Jennifer teaches evaluation in undergraduate and graduate programs in the School of Public Health Sciences and uses an experiential learning approach to her instructional strategies. She is a researcher and program evaluation specialist focused in two thematic areas in youth health: implementation science, and evaluation research. She is interested in research that involves partnerships with organizations and communities to ensure that evaluation results produced are relevant and ideally integrated into a community strategy, advocacy efforts, and programs. She has conducted research with youth and other community members to assess different initiatives impacts on physical activity, healthy eating and mental health environments. Recently, she has focused efforts in Indigenous communities in different areas of Canada.
