Abstract Information: In the evaluation world, collaboration isn’t just a nice-to-have; it's essential. Yet, finding the right content expert or a skilled qualitative analyst to elevate our work often leads us into uncharted territory. So, why is it that collaboration, with all its potential to enhance our impact, often feels so fraught? Why do we gravitate towards the safety of known networks rather than embrace the rich possibilities of new partnerships? It boils down to the complexities and challenges that collaboration entails. How do we navigate the minefield of intellectual property without stepping on toes? What strategies ensure fair payment and recognition, reflecting everyone's contributions? And, perhaps most crucially, how do we discern whether a potential collaborator is the right fit, capable of blending visions without blurring lines?
Pivot Data Design and Reflect Evaluation will use their six-year journey of partnership as a springboard to address these questions, sharing insights into overcoming the challenges of collaboration. Their experience shines a light on the practicalities of working together effectively, underscoring that while the path to successful collaboration may have its challenges, it's also ripe with opportunities for growth and innovation.
This session invites participants into dynamic, small group discussions to tackle these essential questions head-on. By sharing personal experiences and collective wisdom, we aim to unearth strategies that navigate the complexities of intellectual property, fair payment, and choosing the right collaborators. A significant focus will be placed on how to create inclusive environments where new and emerging evaluators can thrive, bringing fresh perspectives and vitality to our collaborative efforts.
As we converge to synthesize our discussions, our objective is to distill actionable insights into a cohesive strategy for fostering effective partnerships. This Think Tank aims to equip evaluators with the tools and perspectives needed to navigate the intricacies of collaboration successfully.
Join us as we delve into the heart of collaboration, seeking to understand its challenges and unlock its potential to drive the evaluation field forward. Together, we can transform collaboration from a source of uncertainty into a foundation for innovation, inclusivity, and shared success.
