219 - Empowering the Next Generation: Insights from the Research on Evaluation Lab Journey

Abstract Information: As a student-led Research on Evaluation lab, we want to share our process of starting the lab, the benefits we have received as students, our vision for the future of the lab, and recommendations for other schools interested in creating their own lab. We will also outline the accomplishments of the lab so far and lessons learned as a lab that has published work and presented at multiple conferences. We will also talk about the diverse interests of our students and how this space serves them whether they are interested in pursuing a career in academia or becoming practitioners. As Research on Evaluation continues to be a focus for the field, we are adamant that opportunities like those offered in the Research on Evaluation lab are critical to the future of our field.
