Abstract Information: Outcome Harvesting (OH) is a participatory monitoring and evaluation method that is used to identify, formulate, analyse and interpret outcomes. OH starts by collecting (harvesting) evidence of what has changed (outcomes) and then works backwards to determine whether and how an intervention has contributed to these changes. This course explores the OH steps through hands-on exercises. It is designed for those new to OH or those aiming to refresh their understanding. At the end of the training, participants will be able to: • Explain the main concepts behind Outcome Harvesting, its steps and principles. • Formulate specific, verifiable and plausible outcome statements. • Apply the fundamentals of analysing and interpreting outcomes. The training will be participatory and engaging. The trainer will give short interactive presentations to introduce each topic and share examples. These introductions will set the stage for practical, hands-on exercises where participants will apply the concepts in groups. Based on a case study and participants’ own material, participants will engage in a role play exercise to simulate the harvesting of outcomes and practice how to analyse and interpret outcomes. The training will be enriched with group discussions and plenary sessions covering various facets of Outcome Harvesting, with the trainer providing in-depth insights and expert guidance throughout the experience.
