Mississippi State University - Social Science Research Center, United States
Sujan Anreddy earned a Ph.D. in computer science from Mississippi State University in 2018, and currently holds the position of Assistant Research Professor at the Social Science Research Center (SSRC) at Mississippi State University. Anreddy's research experience includes working with students on NSF grants to detect COVID-19-related misinformation in social media data and developing interactive resource maps for parents of children aged (0-5). Anreddy's research interests include data visualization and building visual analytical systems for public health surveillance and safety. He maintains the Tobacco Reporting and Progress System (TRAPS) portal for SSRC in partnership with the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH). He works with Tobacco Control program evaluators to add features to TRAPS to facilitate program evaluation. TRAPS allows program monitoring, data visualizations (maps, charts, trend reports), global announcements, document sharing, data input, and query-specific data reports. Program evaluators have instantaneous access to program records, activities, calendars, data reporting, ordinance work, etc. The data portal measures specific program outcomes by state, coalition, or county, which defines and refines program validity. To date, the Mississippi TRAPS data portal has seven years of comprehensive data enabling us to report trends across the state for each program’s measure of effectiveness and the individual progress of grantees.
