Junko Shimizu is a research associate at the Department of Social Welfare at Musashino University in Japan. She is also a doctoral student working on her dissertation on evaluation activities for community-based, multisectoral collaboration at Tokyo Metropolitan University. She has professional experience as a micro-to-macro social worker in Japan and the U.S. for about 10 years. In addition, she was a managing director of a nonprofit intermediary organization called Japan Fundraising Association and committed to supporting the Japanese nonprofit sector by conducting government-initiated research projects and providing evaluation consultation for nonprofit entities. She works with small to midsize nonprofit organizations, community foundations, and multisectoral consortiums as an “evaluation accompanist” for their evaluation capacity building and learning. Junko holds a Master of Social Science in Social Administration (MSSA) and a Master of Nonprofit Organizations (MNO) from Jack, Joseph, and Morton Mandel School of Social Science at Case Western Reserve University.
