Aisha Abedi (she/her), MPH, is a Social Research Scientist at Public Health - Seattle & King County (PHSKC). Aisha conducts various evaluations of programs that support communities to develop and implement solutions for complex issues using their community assets. Aisha has worked closely with diverse communities in the US and worldwide. Before joining PHSKC, Aisha led and supported evaluation efforts at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to understand the impact of health surveillance training programs on health professionals as well as their impact on health surveillance systems in Senegal, Ethiopia, Belize, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (her birth country). Aisha is passionate about bringing community voices into evaluations and uplifting their solutions. Aisha lives in Seattle with her partner and enjoys pottery, sea kayaking on the Sound and Atlantic Ocean (off the coast of Georgia), watching reality TV shows, traveling, and learning about new cultures.
