PhD student
Claremont Graduate University, United States
After decades in a rich and fulfilling career leading non-profits focused on Conflict Transformation and Sports Based Youth Development - both internationally and domestically (in the United States), Rebecca Polivy had the opportunity to return to school and study the essential yet missing piece of her organizational leadership - Evaluation and organizational learning systems. Now, as a third year PhD student in the Evaluation and Applied Research Methods program at the Claremont Graduate University, her research focuses on Evaluative Thinking - how it can be cultivated, and what it can lead to in both professional and everyday life. Alongside her studies she is a practicing evaluator working with the Claremont Evaluation Center and other independent Evaluation firms. Her projects focus on positive youth development through sports; re-defining youth participatory grantmaking; and utilizing social platforms to create supportive communities and amplify social causes.
