Porter Bourie, PhD, is Director of Research and Analytics at Dexis Consulting Group where he has worked for the past nine years. In his current role, Dr. Bourie advises on various monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) projects, primarily for the Department of State, in addition to training staff on mixed-methods evaluation design, qualitative data collection, and analytical tools. Dr. Bourie's main area of expertise has been security, social and ecological, in Sub-Saharan Africa, generally, and the West African Sahel, specifically. He earned his PhD in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2014 after serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Togo from 2004-2006. He is currently based in the Washington, DC metro area.
