Matthew Closter, Ph.D., brings to Equal Measure more than 15 years’ experience in fields such as community development, cradle-to-career educational pipelines, STEM, arts education, and population health—and has worked with organizations in the Philadelphia region and nationally. He has also led educational research initiatives in urban communities, with an emphasis on planning, stakeholder engagement, and implementation.
At Equal Measure, Matt leads project management and evaluation activities for engagements with the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Youth Research Advisory project, the Aspen Institute Criminal Justice Reform Initiative’s Justice and Governance Partnership, and the City of Philadelphia’s Anti-Violence Community Expansion Grant Program. Matt previously lent his expertise to the Florida Consortium of Metropolitan Universities; the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s P-16, Equitable Futures, and Digital Learning Infrastructure initiatives; and a Pew Charitable Trusts initiative to improve college access and success for Hispanic immigrants, among other projects.
