Ramya Kumaran is a PhD student in the department of Educational Psychology, QUERIES (Quantitative and Qualitative Methodology, Measurement and Evaluation), College of Education, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her research interests are in reimagining collaborative spaces to be playful for culturally responsive evaluation. Prior to being a doctoral student, she has experience working as a program evaluator with K-12 education nonprofits, medical student education, and K-12 telehealth initiatives. As a research assistant, she has participated in a variety of projects including the NSF National AI Institute for Inclusive Intelligent Technologies for Education (INVITE), NSF-funded Molecular Maker Lab Institute (MMLI), NSF Institute for Geospatial Understanding through an Integrative Discovery Environment (I-GUIDE), and W.K.Kellogg Foundation’s Truth, Justice, and Racial Healing.
