Sheritha Rayford, MPH (she/her) is the Research and Evaluation Program Manager at the Center for Health and Research Transformation. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, focusing on Health & Society, from Michigan State University in 2019 and a Master of Public Health from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University in 2022.
In her current role, Sheritha assists in the design, implementation, and evaluation of public health programs and research initiatives. She specializes in using evidence-based methodologies to assess program effectiveness and impact, ensuring that data-driven insights guide improvements in health outcomes. Her work involves collaborating with community stakeholders, health systems, and non-profit organizations to develop research strategies that address the real-world challenges faced by underserved populations.
Throughout her career, Sheritha has contributed to various public health projects, including global nutritional programs, mental and behavioral health, women’s health, and health communication. Her comprehensive understanding of how these intersecting issues affect vulnerable communities informs her work and research.
Sheritha is particularly passionate about community-based participatory research (CBPR), which she considers essential for creating effective public health interventions. CBPR emphasizes collaboration between researchers and community members, ensuring that those most affected by health issues have a voice in identifying problems and developing solutions.
Driven by her commitment to public health, Sheritha aims to raise awareness of the social determinants of health, such as economic instability and limited access to quality healthcare. She is dedicated to using her expertise to uplift and advocate for marginalized and underserved populations, ensuring they remain central to the conversation and solutions in public health.
