Mohammad Awlad Hossain has been working as Technical Advisor-Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning with Orbis International, a non-profit development organization aiming to reducing avoidable blindness across the globe. His responsibilities include providing subject matter expertise and guidance, training, and technical support to country programs across Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. He is also responsible to ensure results-based M&E System for Orbis projects, generate evidence through monitoring and research studies and promote organizational learning. He did his masters degree in Anthropology and Public Health. Over the last 23 years Mr. Hossain worked mainly in the field of Research, Monitoring and Evaluation with reputed national and international development organizations. The organizations where he worked with include Orbis International, BRAC, Bangladesh Center for Communication Programs (BCCP), Plan International Bangladesh and Acid Survivors Foundation, Bangladesh. He has long experience on designing research and evaluation study, data collection tools, carry out data analysis (both quantitative & qualitative) and data management, preparing research and evaluation report, dissemination findings at national and international workshops and seminars. He is also expert in developing M&E systems including logical framework, theory of change, result chain, performance monitoring plan and result based monitoring and evaluation. He has experience in conducting collaborative and action research with various national and international research institutions and universities which include BRAC University James P Grant School of Public Health in Bangladesh, Karoliniska Institutet (Sweden), East Anglia University (UK), Queens University, Belfast, University of Dhaka in Bangladesh, icddr,b, CAMPE Bangladesh, ICRW etc. His research and evaluation studies are on eye health, maternal and child health, water sanitation and hygiene, health systems, quality education and child rights and protection. He has several publications published in international peer reviewed journals, working papers, policy papers and organizational learning papers.
