Catherine Kelly, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Associate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she is evaluating a project focused on strengthening the capacity of Central American universities to engage in collaborative research and inclusive innovation. Her PhD research examined the influences of internal evaluation conducted within English higher education providers as they respond to regulatory requirements to 'widen participation' to higher education. Catherine’s research interests cut across disciplinary areas with a focus on the influences of evaluation systems, the extent to which they ‘speak truth to power’, and how actors within organisations enact research and evaluation.
