Dr. Garcia is a bi-cultural, queer Chicanx Tejanx with over 25 years of experience in public health management, health equity research, and evaluation science across the Midwest, Seattle, New York, and Texas. He specializes in disease prevention, treatment, screening, and healthcare access for diverse populations. His research focuses on social determinants of health affecting racial/ethnic disparities, particularly in the Latinx community. A former Leader in Equitable Evaluation Diversity (LEEAD) Scholar, and Co-Chair of the Latinx Responsive Evaluation Discourse (LaRED) TIG with AEA, Dr. Garcia is a strong advocate for culturally responsive evaluation. He currently serves as Chief Quality Officer at the Texas Center for Infectious Disease in San Antonio, Texas.
