Sam Bruick (MSW) is an evaluator with the Social Work Research Center at Colorado State University (CSU). Sam has more than seven years of experience in the human services and research and evaluation fields. She draws on her direct practice backgrounds in community mental health, early childhood, and positive youth development, as well as past work in behavioral health policy to inform her evaluation practice.
Sam’s research experience has focused on data equity and community-based participatory action research, which centers the voice of impacted communities as experts in the research process. In past roles, she focused on catalyzing community assessments into systems and policy level change across Larimer County.
At CSU, Sam is involved in projects related to healthy aging, human trafficking, the juvenile justice system, and various community voice efforts.
Outside of her work at SWRC, Sam has been a part of various community coalitions including the Northern Colorado Harm Reduction Alliance, Imagine Zero LGBTQ+ workgroup, and the Larimer County Youth Mental Health Taskforce, as well as other grassroots community organizing and non-clinical peer support efforts.
