Mr. Rinji Kwarkas is the Monitoring, Evaluation, Reseach and Learning (MERL) Manager (Interim) at the Graca Machel Trust with over 9 years’ experience in development work. His work is focused on designing, monitoring and evaluation of development projects, ensuring accountability and harvesting and disseminating of outcomes and learnings from the same. He is the convener of SHEvaluators, the National Secretary General of the Nigerian Association of Evaluators (NAE), a member of the International Institute of Forecasters with an innovative application of time series and research tools for development. He is strong at conducting quantitative and qualitative research, Organizational Capacity Assessment (OCA), forecasting socio economic phenomena, development and deployment of management information systems for development, championing diversity, equity and equality in communities and within the humanitarian sector. He manages MEAL systems and continues to apply research for development through independent and external assessments, evaluations and surveys.
The SHEvaluators initiative which he convenes is a self funded initiative, aimed at fostering gender-responsive and inclusive evaluation practices by addressing the unique challenges faced by African women in the field of evaluation. We seek to raise the next generation of African Female evaluators by inspiring and equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and networks necessary for entry and professional growth and success in the evaluation field especially in development practice.
