76 - The Mission Continues' Use of The Empowered Veteran Index Scale to Understand Veterans' Well-Being in the Areas of Personal Growth, Connectedness, and Civic Engagement in Under-Resourced Communities

This poster will discuss the development and implementation of The Empowered Veteran Index – Short Form (EVI-SF) in the evaluation of programmatic outcome achievement for The Mission Continues, a national veteran-serving nonprofit. The programmatic framework used by The Mission Continues was initially adapted into a 35-question validated scale named the Empowered Veteran Index (EVI), which measures engagement in personal growth, connectedness with others, and community impact/civic engagement. Following implementation of the EVI into programmatic evaluations, a 15-question validated scale, the Empowered Veteran Index – Short Form (EVI-SF) was developed to be more efficiently incorporated into programmatic surveys performed by The Mission Continues and increase usefulness for other organizations serving populations which experience reintegration stress.
