Marcia Taborga (she/her/ella), Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist and the CEO of Seedling Consulting Group, a social science evaluation firm based in Orange County, California. She co-founded Seedling to raise equity and social justice. She brings unique experience to evaluation having worked on the program side as both a service provider in community-based organizations and as a program lead at the LA County Department of Mental Health. Additionally, she has lived experience navigating numerous systems as co-conservator of her brother who has severe developmental delays and struggles with Bipolar and Schizophrenia. She is passionate about creating tangible changes that are felt by the communities she works with. She has led large-scale evaluations with over 60 CBOs, managed countywide data collection efforts, and engaged stakeholders ranging from leaders of LA County to Spanish-speaking parents of children involved in services. Some of her projects include juvenile justice reform, foster youth reproductive health and education, evidence-based mental health implementation, Basic Income research, and housing benefits. Some outcomes include utilization rates, barriers and facilitators of program implementation, client outcomes and experiences, reductions in secondary services needed, and cost analyses. Last year, her work resulted in increased county positions to provide additional support to youth in foster care. The year prior, more funds went to organizations providing reproductive health education, and before that LA County and First 5 LA added a Spanish-speaking trainer track to fill gaps in mental health service delivery of evidence-based practices.
