Liz Johnson Education Consulting, United States
Elisabeth Johnson, Ed.D. of Liz Johnson Education Consulting (LJEC) specializes in facilitating learning and evaluation in education and non-profit sectors. Liz has worked in P-16+ education in a range of capacities (teacher, researcher, professor, evaluator) since 1997. In 2020, she left a career in academia to consult and work as an educational researcher and evaluator. Since, she has focused primarily on evaluation of NSF, USDA and DOL grant-funded programs. Many programs center systems-embedded student supports, (e.g., mentorship, wrap-around services, co-curricular and cohort-building activities, etc.) toward persistence and matriculation in STEM degree programs; in many cases at Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs). Prior to 2020, Liz worked as a full-time faculty member at St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX (an HSI) and City University of New York on Staten Island. Additional past evaluation experience includes three years (2004-2007) at the National Center for Restructuring Education, Schools and Teaching at Columbia Teachers College on the Bill & Melinda Gates funded Institute for Student Achievement project. As part of that project, Liz documented small school reform at various school sites across the New York region.
Liz has a BA in English Literature from the University of Chicago, an MS in Elementary Education from the University of New Haven in Connecticut and an EdD in Curriculum and Teaching (specializing in Curriculum Studies and Literacy Education) from Teachers College, Columbia University.
